City fog lifting along soft traffic lights,
Busy roads snaking through a concrete kingdom,
This is where she was supposed to start her new life.
You could mistake her for Atlas, universes on her shoulders.
You could call her Demeter, that terrifying ambition and grace, hypnotising.
She is the sisters of Fate, weaving tales dripping with gold, oh Lord, she is Hera herself, the queen of us all.
But all that you see: a new city girl trying to fulfil a very overdone dream.
Straight face, proud stance, she marches on, earrings dangling like a royal proclamation.
She is gold, she is a goddess, she is infinite. You could see it too, I warrant.
